About Us

A Legacy of Local Fandom

Established in 2013 by local enthusiasts Trent Rogers and Terry Wardell, the Sarnia Pop Culture Show has evolved from a grassroots gathering into the region’s premier celebration of comics, cosplay, and gaming.

Fandom with a Purpose

We believe that heroes aren’t just found in comic books. Sarnia Pop Culture Show has been proud to support St. Clair Child & Youth Services over the years.

Through ticket sales and on site events, we have raised over $25,000 to help provide accessible mental health services to children and youth in Lambton County. When you buy a ticket to our show, you aren’t just buying a day of entertainment, you are investing in the well-being of our community’s future.

Fun for the whole family

We pride ourselves on being an affordable, all-ages event where children 11 and under enter for free, allowing parents to share their favourite fandoms, from vintage toys to modern gaming, with the next generation.

The Story So Far

The Sarnia Pop Culture Show was born out of a simple observation: local fans were tired of traveling hours to Toronto or Detroit to celebrate the culture they loved. In 2013, founders Trent Rogers and Terry Wardell launched the inaugural event at the Holiday Inn, hoping to gather a small circle of collectors.

The community response was immediate. Attendance doubled within the first few years, necessitating a move to the Point Edward Memorial Arena to accommodate the growing crowds of cosplayers, gamers, and collectors.

Now celebrating our 11th Annual Show in 2026, the event has survived venue changes and a global pandemic to return stronger than ever. In 2025, we welcomed a record-breaking 1,500+ attendees, proving that Sarnia-Lambton’s geek culture is thriving.

The Team

Over the years we have built up an amazing team of rag tag volunteers who are coming together with the passion of organizing the best event possible for our community!
